Infallibility And Inerrancy of the Bible

Bible Free “Christianity”?
Recently, I was glancing through my Facebook news feed, and I saw something that startled me. I subscribe to many news pages as well as Christian pages, to keep up on current issues in these realms. One of the people I subscribed to is a gospel singer who’s music, to me, is amazing. His name is Don Francisco. What I saw in a glance, seemed to me that he was condemning the Bible as untruths. I was in a hurry, and put it aside, but made a mental note to return to take a closer look at what I saw. When later I was able to return, It was confirmed what I had seen. The post stated that the Bible was not the inerrant, word of God. That made many questions pop up in my mind. If that is true, what makes you a Christian? The answer from Wendy Fransisco was because Jesus lives in me. I corrected her and said, you mean the Holy Spirit, right? However, I was still shocked by that answer. I was shocked more yet by the resounding support of others on that post that felt the same as Don and Wendy, including some pastors. So many people that claim to be Christian but reject the word of God.
After several back and for comments with a pastor and Wendy, and a threat to ban me from their page, I began to give serious thought to this issue. If you are a Christian, how do you know what one is? How do you call yourself one, by what measure? Is some of the Bible true in their eyes and if so how do you pick what’s true and what is not? If you are a Christian that is filled by the Holy Spirit, is that spirit telling you to stay away from the Bible? If you are anti-Bible, but filled by the Holy Spirit, how do you know it is the Spirit Of God and not something else. See the problem that they have here, is that if parts of the Bible are true and some are not, is then the WHOLE Bible becomes false. Half-truths are lies just the same. If you then reject the Bible, where does your belief system come from? You cannot be a Christian if you have no idea what a Christian is? Now, you can be saved and accept Jesus Christ based on what the person witnessing to you tells you about Jesus, but if that is all you have as a Christian, you may get to Heaven, but you are the weakest of milk toast Christians. This kind of Christianity is based on feelings and a Liberal Worldview.
Some folks here may remember a television series called “The Greatest American Hero”. The premise of the show was that a regular guy was given a super power suit with immense power. It was given to him by aliens along with an instruction book on how to use it. Unfortunately, he lost the instruction book and had no idea how to use the suit. The entire series thereafter was about him fumbling around in the suit, trying to figure it out. The series was cute and at times very humorous. However, in reality, it would not be funny, but instead very frustrating. If that is the way that God would give us the spirit but no way to understand Him, it would not work out so well. I could write an entire book on this but am trying to make this a quick and easy read, to ensure more people will.
There are many reasons the Bible exists and is the infallible word of God. The Old Testament is the foundation of Christianity. It shows us the history of the world, through the eyes of His chosen people. It shows us where all of us come from and the nature of man.
